A series of three wearable sculptures that challenge the physical capabilities of the body. These works are inspired by the fungi Devil’s Finger and Devil’s Tooth, which possess unnatural characteristics and secrete exposed, blood-like sap. The use of ribbon symbolizes the internal connection between the human body and the natural world. I experimented with wire mesh to construct the structural bases of the sculptures, then applied expanding foam to develop their bulbous, organic forms.
