THE GRASP

Within the dual performance of 'THE GRASP' , I aimed to stage the limits of the human form through the creation of a pair of exaggerated hand extensions, drawing strong influence from the performative works of Rebecca Horn. These extensions transform the act of painting into a spectacle, testing the body’s ability to achieve the illusion of the “perfect” painting. Beneath the unsettling, almost ritualistic tone of the performance lies a sense of irony and dark humour, exposing the tension between control, excess, and failure.
